2010 Brings Us To You, The PAAVO ALUMNI

• Matt Kain, a Paavo Alumnus (North & West), is coordinating an effort to locate as many Paavo Alumni as possible. (mkain@thepaavos.com)

Why?
To celebrate the 40th year of what began in 1971 with 14 runners, a young energetic coach, runners seeking adventure in running farther and faster, and a location where others had not been. Little did we know the Paavo would grow into the key experience of 2010. Yes, good visions are funny sometimes.

What?

• Connections: Getting connected back to the Paavo Experience to share with the other Paavonians as the true key experience it was and now is in your real world. The Paavonian Pipeline will be the connection newsletter to highlight all the “Memories That Inspired” from the Paavo Runners
• Paavo Reunions: We are organizing right now through Matt Kain, the Bristol Coordinator, Matt Petterworth, the web designer (Paavo West, North, Middle School, Missouri, Run Across Texas as a runner, Alumni Leader, Alumni Staffer, and full Paavo Staff), and Chris Scheimann, Facebook Director, Paavo West, Paavo North, Paavo Missouri, Paavo Run Across Texas as a runner, Alumni Leader, Alumni Staff, and full Paavo Staff. The reunions will be offered at each Paavo Camp and specific State XC Meets.
• Alumni Leaders: Any Paavonian from any past Paavo Camp can be part of the 2010 Paavo Camp experience by joining our staff on a Paavo Camp.
• Paavo Market Place: This will be special with special 40 year shirts, banners, custom posters, bumper stickers, and much more. Connect so you can receive the latest updates.

How?

Respond to Matt Kain as soon as possible so we can get you connected. If you so choose, any of the following

• Camps attended by title and year
• That one “Moment That Inspired” from your camps
• The real key experience from your Paavos that has carried over to the “Real World”
• Note if you want information on the other planned Paavo events for our 40th year.

Key Experiences are an event, a person, and a decision.. It is what one runs into and what happens after.

It is what a runner recalls everytime that runner trains and races
It is remembered to be recalled in all endeavors that follow that goes beyond training and racing.. It is about the unknown runner becoming known.
